WORK TO improve the coastal defences at Llandudno's West Shore will start this week.
The work is being undertaken to reduce the potential for coastal flooding and its impact on the area.
The project will see the extension of the secondary wall on the West Parade by 50 metres, and 'stop logs' locations being installed.
Stop logs are where gaps in the wall are blocked up with wooden logs when bad weather is forecasted.
Pedestrian diversions will be in place, with a small section of the pavement to be closed off - access to the beach and car park and road traffic will not be affected.

"This work will improve the existing coastal defences, to reduce the potential for coastal flooding and its impact.
"A small section of pavement will be closed off closest to the work areas, with a pedestrian diversion.
"There will be access to the beach, grass and Dale Road car park throughout this phase of the work.
"Traffic will not be affected along West Parade."
