A GROUP has been established to lead an initiative to transform a skatepark in Llandudno Junction.
The Victoria Skatepark Project will look to change the existing skatepark, in Victoria Park, into a state-of-the-art concrete skatepark designed to serve the entire community.
Curve Studio has been appointed to work alongside the project group, exploring residents’ needs and to shaping the park to fit the community.
The project aims to provide decades of wheeled sports use, delivering long-term leisure and fitness opportunities for all ages.
A spokesperson for the group said: “In an area lacking outdoor sports facilities, this investment decisively addresses the gap.
“The new wheel-sport park will significantly enhance the playground’s appearance, inspiring young children to participate in wheeled sports.”
On July 18, the group is hosting a series of meetings to explore the wants, needs and ideas of the park users.
These will be held at Llandudno Junction Memorial Hall, on Penrhos Avenue.
All are welcome at the meetings, which consist of the following:
4-5.30pm - Women and girls
5.45-7.15pm – Skateboarders and scooter and BMX riders
7.30-9pm - Open meeting
