A Colwyn Bay opticians are set to donate £1 from every sight test carried out in July to help a local little boy with leukaemia go on a trip of a lifetime.
Henry Castle, age five, was diagnosed with leukaemia aged one and has courageously battled it for the past four years.
Throughout his journey, he contracted life-threatening sepsis six times, making long-distance travel a challenge.
As Mr Castle's chemotherapy treatment is due to end this summer, charities Kids Cancer Charity and Give Kids The World have offered him and his family the chance to visit Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
However, the Castle family must cover their travel expenses and other necessary costs, including Mr Castle's health insurance.
To raise funds, Mr Castle's mother, Charlotte Castle, set up a JustGiving page that has so far received more than £4,000.
In addition, Specsavers in Colwyn Bay has pledged to contribute £1 from every sight test conducted in July.
Ms Castle, who had to leave her job when her son fell ill, also organised an online raffle.
It attracted more than 170 prizes including two hampers filled with various items and Specsavers vouchers worth £125 donated by Specsavers Colwyn Bay.
Last month, Mr Castle and his mother visited Specsavers, located at Bay View Shopping Centre, to collect the hampers.
While he was there, he received an eye test from optometrist partner, Andrew Deeley.
Zoe Smith, retail director said: "It was such a pleasure to meet Henry and his mother and we are so delighted to be able to help raise the funds needed to send Henry on this trip of a lifetime.
"As well as the hampers that we donated to the raffle, we have pledged to give £1 from every sight test carried out at our store in July.
"We encourage anyone that is due for a sight test to book in at our store this month and help get Henry off to Florida to celebrate how far he has come."
