The direct train from Bangor to London Euston, which was due to depart at 9.20am yesterday, was cancelled.
The Labour MP took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and said: "In news that will shock absolutely no-one, my Avanti West Coast train down to London for my first day in Westminster has been cancelled."
Andrew Ranger, the new MP for Wrexham, replied to her tweet saying that it would have been his train too, and that they now had "another thing to add to the list of things to tackle".
Ms Hughes won the Bangor Aberconwy seat with a majority of 4,896 votes, finishing ahead of Plaid Cymru candidate Catrin Wager in second and defeating incumbent Conservative MP Robin Millar.
