A TIKTOK star who rates his stay at hotels across the UK checked in at the Grand Hotel in Llandudno, and had some kind words to say about the place.

Zac Jones (@zacjonesliverpool) stayed at “North Wales’ worst rated hotel” in June, and documented his stay on the platform.

After hearing of some of the “embarrassingly bad” reviews, Mr Jones checked the hotel out for himself, and noted the “nice entrance” and “classical” look of the reception area.

Mentioning its “luxurious” former glory, he found several positives which might suggest its reputation was somewhat unjust.

Paying £65 for the night, Zac said his room “should be a little nicer” for the price, but that the clean room was among the “nicest rooms I've been in, in a Britannia."

Chain that owns Llandudno’s Grand Hotel voted worst for another year

The Grand Hotel is owned by Britannia Hotels, which has been the worst-rated hotel chain by Which? for a decade.

The Grand Hotel itself has been poorly reviewed - having just three stars on TripAdvisor - with many visitors and residents critical of the state of the hotel.

Mr Jones continued his tour, calling the corridors “a little bit dated”, and was critical of the toilet, where he found “discolouration” and dirt.

Not impressed by the en-suite, he added: “This is quite a bad toilet, I'm not going to lie.

“The floor is for function, not for style. Just looking around, I'd want to wear my shoes in here.”

However, the TikToker did enjoy a pint at The Palladium, a newly-renovated Wetherspoon pub on Gloddaeth Street.

He labelled it the “coolest Wetherspoons he’d seen”, and said it had been “restored quite nice, especially when you go to other seaside towns.”
