A WOMAN charged with murdering a man in Colwyn Bay will not be giving evidence at her trial.
Lauren Harris, 29, of no fixed abode but from the Colwyn Bay area, is one of three charged with the murder of 65-year-old David Wilcox in his Bay View Road home early on November 20, 2023.
At Mold Crown Court earlier today (July 3), following the conclusion of the prosecution’s case, her barrister, Richard Pratt KC, told the court she will not be taking to the witness box.
Her co-defendant - David Webster, 43, of Lacey Street, Widnes – is due to begin giving evidence at 2pm this afternoon.
Thomas Whiteley, 33, of Clos Emlyn, Old Colwyn, is the third defendant charged with Mr Wilcox’s murder.

The court previously heard Mr Wilcox was stabbed twice and assaulted with a weapon in his home on Bay View Road early on November 20.
Mr Wilcox first met Harris in June 2023, before a relationship developed between them and she moved in with him.
It is the prosecution’s case that Harris was responsible for stabbing Mr Wilcox, and Webster and Whiteley for unlawful violence towards him, with all three ultimately responsible for his death.
The trial, which started on June 11, is set to resume with Webster’s evidence this afternoon.
