A WOMAN and her dog were rescued early yesterday (June 30) after becoming stranded on rock armour in Rhos-on-Sea.
Despite strong winds and slight to moderate sea conditions, the Llandudno RNLI crew’s inshore lifeboat arrived at the scene at 5.30am, having launched 14 minutes earlier.
The woman had been walking her dog when it ran off onto the rock armour.
In an attempt to chase after her dog, she sustained minor cuts and became stranded as the tide began to come in.
She started shouting for help, prompting the lifeboat to locate her and her dog.
Both were taken onboard the boat and safely brought back to shore, where they were handed to Llandudno Coastguard before the lifeboat returned to base.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said: “The incoming tide can catch so many people out.
“The woman had noticed she was in trouble, knew that the rock armour that she was on wouldn’t become fully submerged, and made the right decision to call for help, rather than attempting to self-rescue.”
