A NEW private dental hygiene clinic has opened its doors in Rhos-on-Sea.

Pearl Dental Hygiene Clinic welcomed customers to its premises, at 2 Allanson Road, for the first time on Friday, June 14.

It is being run by Claira Davies, a qualified hygienist and practice owner.

The clinic offers a range of treatments, including a traditional scale and polish, air-polisher and scale, periodontal treatment, and “kiddie cleans”.

Claira said: “I have over 20 years of experience in dentistry, from being a dental nurse in 1999, to following my dreams to study dental hygiene at the University of Liverpool School of Dentistry in 2001.

“I am a fluent Welsh speaker, and am proud to have been working in North Wales for the last 27 years.

“In 2013, the law changed to allow all qualified General Dental Council-registered hygienists to see their own patients without the need to see or even be registered with a dentist.

“After 20 years of being a hygienist, I knew it was time for me to follow my dream and open my own dental hygiene clinic.”

Pearl Dental Hygiene Clinic is open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (closed 1-2pm for lunch).

A hygienist is also available at the clinic on Thursdays and Fridays.
