A Conwy vineyard has been named among the best in the UK.

The top 12 best vineyards in the UK have been revealed by Time Out, featuring places from all over the country including London, Dorset and South Wales.

Introducing the list, the media outlet said: "While it’s been the butt of many (mostly French) jokes for years, we Brits aren’t actually just a nation of wine drinkers – we’re pretty darn good at making the stuff, too.

"From chardonnay in Dorset and organic vinos in Kent to sparkling blushes near Cardiff, there are plenty of lovely vineyards dotted throughout the country.

"And better yet, lots of these vineyards are open to the public, offering set menus, pairings, and dazzling countryside views.

The Conwy vineyard among the best in the UK

Gwinllan Conwy was one of two vineyards in Wales to be named among the best in the UK.

Time Out said Gwinllan was one of Wales' most praised vineyards and their wines have won a range of prestigious awards.

The media outlet said: "Set against the gorgeous backdrop of Snowdonia, Gwinllan Conwy is one of Wales’s most lauded vineyards. For good reason, too.

"The wines they produce have won a range of prestigious awards on both a domestic and international level.

"It’s the grapes themselves, though, that might just be the most interesting thing about Gwinllan, with deep cuts like Solaris and Rondo making up the backbone of the 3,000 vines spread across three acres of Welsh landscape.

"There are plenty of traditional grapes planted as well – all of which are transformed into some stellar bottles of wine by Gwinllan’s dandy winemakers."

Visitors seem to agree with the high praise given to Gwinllan Conwy with it boasting a 5 out of 5 rating on Tripadvisor from 119 reviews (at the time of writing).
