A Greyhound Rescue Charity is looking for new foster carers in North Wales.

Greyhound Rescue Wales is aiming to grow a new network of foster carers across the region, specifically for greyhounds and lurchers who have nowhere to go.

The charity will be holding an information day at Llanfairfechan Community Hall on July 6 from 10.30am to 12.30pm, where interested families can learn more about the fostering process and connect with others who share a passion for animal welfare.

Greyhound Rescue Wales has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers since it was founded in 1993.

Fostering is an important step in the process, offering these dogs a chance to adjust to home life and receive much needed love and care whilst they wait for their permanent homes.

The charity's CEO, Tim Doyle, explained the increased need for homes: "Like many rehoming charities, we have seen demand for kennel spaces skyrocket over the last 24 months.

"We only have a finite number of kennel spaces, so fostering is a great way to make sure dogs have somewhere to go in the interim before we can find them their forever homes.

"Fostering is a fulfilling and life-changing experience for both the dogs and their foster families."

The event will include a presentation by Nicola Jones, the charity's rescue and rehoming manager, followed by an informal Q&A session.

Attendees will be able to have discussions about fostering and are welcome to take away further information.

You can register your attendance at the event online at www.greyhoundrescuewales.co.uk/fosterday.

The event is free, and there's no obligation to foster afterwards.
