ABERCONWY MS Janet Finch-Saunders has called on the Welsh Government to take action to help tackle the mobile signal “crisis” in Llandudno.
This follows business owners and tourism chiefs calling for greater mobile phone coverage in tourist areas.
Mrs Finch-Saunders said that network masts in Llandudno were being “overloaded” by tourism, and that a plan should be put together to address the issue.
Commenting ahead of addressing the Welsh Parliament on the matter, she said: “The consequences of the overloading of masts in Llandudno are serious.

“Mobile payment machines are failing, leaving businesses unable to take payments, and residents and visitors cannot get hold of loved ones.
“Mobile service providers are informing residents and businesses that they need to wait until winter to have a reliable service restored. That just isn’t good enough.
“Llandudno needs 21st century technology, and the Welsh Government should work with the local authority, UK Government, and private sector to put a plan together for the community.”
