Conwy’s planning committee has granted permission for former hockey changing rooms to be converted into a new workshop for the council’s harbour master.
Matthew Forbes sought permission for the change of use of hockey changing rooms to a storage and workshop facility at the rear of 27 – 33 Dr Garrett’s Drive at the end of the Whinacres cul-de-sac, Conwy.
The plans were discussed at a planning meeting on Wednesday at Conwy’s Bodlondeb HQ.
The converted building will be primarily used as a store for harbour and seaboard related items including noticeboards, deckchairs, anchors, and buoys.
Minor repairs could also be carried out at the building.

The opening hours of the workshop will be between 8am and 6pm.
The harbour master stated in the report: “It is not anticipated that any noise or disturbance will be caused to the local residents by the proposed change of use. To the contrary, the refurbishment of the building will deter anti-social behaviour at the site.”
Cllr Steven Price proposed councillors backed the application, and this was seconded by Cllr Trystan Lewis before the committee unanimously voted in favour of the proposals.
