LLANDUDNO has been rated as the best holiday destination in Wales, and the sixth-best in the UK, in a new study.

Experts at GO Outdoors have compiled a list of holiday hotspots for 2024, having researched a range of data, including hotels, activities, transport, weather, and popularity.

In Wales, nowhere scored better than Llandudno’s 8.93 out of 10, while only five across the UK (Newquay, Scarborough, Canterbury, Bath and York) bettered this.

Llandudno was found to have:

  • 80.8 per cent of its hotels rated highly.
  • 42.6 number of activities per km².
  • Average hotel price per night of £82.
  • Average annual temperature of 10.5°C.
  • Average annual rainfall of 64.6mm.
  • Average cost of transport of £3.50.
  • Average starting taxi tariff cost of £2.40.
  • 12,240 “staycation” Google searches.
  • 495 “staycations” hashtag posts.

In addition, Llandudno was rated the 12th-best UK holiday hotspot for couples, and the fourth-best for families.

Meanwhile, Gwynedd and Conwy county ranked 10th and 19th respectively in the best UK camping holiday hotspots.
