A WOMAN from the West Midlands who assisted people in stealing more than £2,000 of goods from three Llandudno stores has been handed a community order.

Charlotte Ryder, 38, of Nursery Road, Bloxwich, was sentenced at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court earlier this month.

During the same hearing, she admitted three charges of aiding and abetting theft from a shop.

In March, Kayleigh Williams, 37, and Morgan Neville, 20, both of Monarch Grove, Walsall, were both sentenced to 18 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, after stealing the following in Llandudno on December 8, 2023:

  • Items varying from electronics to toys, amounting to a total value of £1,587.64, from Smyths Toys, Mostyn Champneys Retail Park.
  • Dog food worth £51.44 from Pets at Home, Mostyn Champneys Retail Park.
  • Cosmetics and health items valued at a total of £578 from Boots, Llandudno.

Ryder had been charged with assisting them in their thefts which, the court heard, had an element of “pre-planning” about them.

A fourth defendant - Jodie Williams, 35, of Fleming Road, Walsall - is also charged with stealing these items, and has had an arrest warrant issued.

Per the terms of her community order, Ryder was ordered to complete 15 days’ rehabilitation activity.

She will also pay a fine of £108, costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £100, and compensation of £157.36.
