A SALON which opened in Colwyn Bay last year after taking on the premises next door and combining it into “one big salon”.
Strands N Hands, at 135a Abergele Road, celebrated its first day of business in mid-November 2023.
It has since also occupied the site next door (previously Willie’s Walkers dog walking) as the business continues to expand.

Zoe Walker, salon owner, said: “Since opening in November, the salon team has grown substantially, and we’ve even started our own line of merchandise.
“We’ve renovated the beauty room into an aesthetics room, and there are further plans to build a training academy downstairs in the new shop, and a ‘quiet treatment room’ is also in the pipeline.
“I took the lease (for next door) in March - it took 19 days for us to get the expansion done.”
Now boasting a team of 14, Zoe is one of three staff members currently to training to become educators; “in order to teach our skills to others”.
Zoe Walker and manager Tasha Styles have also been nominated for two and three prizes at the 2024 UK Hair and Beauty Awards respectively.
Staff members Sheridine McFarlane and Joanne Taylor are also up for an award each, while the salon as a whole is in the running for “best salon team” and “best new salon”.
“We are looking forward to attending both the Welsh and the UK Hair and Beauty Awards over the next few weeks, and to continue to provide a five-star service to all our clients,” Zoe added.
