A NEW luxury bed and breakfast in Llandudno has opened its doors to its very first guests.
Amanda and Mark Richards have opened Roomours which boasts 10 double en-suite rooms.
The couple, who run Statement Home & Gifts furniture store on Mostyn Street, took on the property on Church Walks at the end of February 2024.
Amanda and Mark told the Pioneer: "We have a passion for decorative interiors, having owned and developed a couple of other hotels in and around Llandudno over the last 20 years. We were drawn by the character of this property and could see the potential to create an inviting individual property for guests.
"We are very excited to welcome and open for guests having completed a full refurbishment of all areas of the property.
"We are fully booked for the Victorian Extravaganza bank holiday and we have just started to get bookings for the summer months."
Amanda and Mark have completed a refurbishment of the 10 guest bedrooms as well as the bar, dining room, snug lounge and have carried out external repairs and painting.
It has been a very ambitious project to complete in just two months.
The duo said: "We have 10 guest bedrooms and a very comfortable and well stocked bar and icing on the cake is the private car park."
Asked about how they decided upon the name 'Roomours', Amanda and Mark said: "We wanted to re-establish the property post refurbishment with a fresh and contemporary name.
"The property dates from 1890 and was originally a Grand Victorian Town House. It has a rich history; it served as the Girls Friendly Society Lodge from 1900 thru till 1960’s when it was an orphanage and welfare centre for children in need and provided them with shelter, education and social support.
"After the GFS Society sold the property, it was converted to run as a hotel and has been so since then."
