THE ASDA Express store in Colwyn Bay closed early at the weekend due to "staff absence".
The store, which opened at the old Co-op petrol station forecourt in Old Colwyn in November, closed at around 9pm on Sunday (14 April) - despite its closing hours being 11pm.
Customers found the shutters closed when going for their late-night shopping.
Some residents said they had filed complaints with Asda, with one saying they should "put a note up" and it was "not the first time this has happened".

Another person called it a "shame", while a third resident said "when it was Co-op they didn't do this".
Asda have now confirmed that the early closure was due to a staff member being unwell.
An Asda spokesperson said: "Unfortunately due to staff absence our Colwyn Bay Express store had to close a couple of hours early on Sunday.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
