A WOMAN from Llanfairfechan is to have her head shaved in aid of a cancer charity this weekend.
Fran Holmes, 38, is to take part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s “Brave the Shave” challenge on Saturday (April 6) at Paragon Barbers, on Station Road.
This challenge encourages people to raise money for the charity by having their head shaved, with Fran so far having raised £190 on her online fundraiser page.

Fran, who has autism, said: “I want other people with learning disabilities to know that they can do something like this, too.
“I wanted to do this in memory of my friend who passed away from cancer, and I know a lot of people who have suffered from cancer, as well.
“I just want to spread the word, because I don’t think many people with learning disabilities like me have done something like this.”
Fran has already more than doubled her fundraising target of £100 for Macmillan.
The charity strives to help anyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can by providing them with physical, financial and emotional support.
More than three million people are living with cancer in the UK, a figure which is expected to rise to four million by 2030.
