1. 19 Llandudno businesses given new food hygiene ratings
New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 19 businesses in Llandudno, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows this week.
The food hygiene rating scheme gives businesses in England and Wales a rating of 0-5, 5 being the highest, based on their hygiene standards.
The scheme is run in partnership with local authorities and in Wales businesses are obligated to display their rating.

2. New ride with thrilling drop at GreenWood Family Park!
A top eco tourist attraction is gearing up for the new season with a brand new ride from the Netherlands.
GreenWood Family Park, in Y Felinheli, near Bangor, has invested more than £100,000 in importing the giant Forest Glider slide. It has been installed just in time for the Easter holidays.
The spectacular new ride, known as Gleidar y Goedwig in Welsh, is the only one of its kind in Wales, standing 20 metres tall with a thrillingly steep 75 metre drop.

4. Llandudno Pier gift shop gets a pink makeover!
A popular crystal gift shop business on the famous Llandudno Pier has undergone the ultimate pink makeover.
The Crystal Hut, which opened on the pier in February 2022, unveiled its new all-pink design last week, matching the business’ other sites at Clonmel Street, Llandudno and the New Chester Market.
Always aiming to “stand out from the crowd”, the pink furniture has made the store “really bright and refreshed”, the owners said.

5. Free car parks in Conwy introduced charges this week
Conwy introduced charges at two of its free car parks this week
And prices also increased at all Conwy’s pay-and-display car parks from Friday (March 29), just in time for the busy bank holiday weekend.
The extra cost to drivers follows the authority slashing front-line service budgets and increasing council tax by 9.67%.
The cash-strapped authority is blaming the Welsh Government for the move after receiving the joint lowest rise in Wales of its annual local government settlement.
