A JEWELLERY store in Rhos-on-Sea is set to close for a few days after thieves stole thousands of pounds' worth of items in a break-in this morning (March 15).
ARK Antiques and Jewellery, at 4 Rhos Road, suffered a break-in in the early hours, with the "callus" thieves also making a "terrible mess" of the shop and destroying its old glass window.
The owners said that they have been forced to close for a few days with a "heavy heart", adding they were "still in shock".
In a notice to customers on social media, the store said: "It is with a heavy heart that we have to close the shop for a few days due to a break-in at our shop in the early hours of this morning.

"Not only did the callus thieves steal thousands of pounds' worth of jewellery but they made a terrible mess of our shop front and destroyed our old glass window.
"We are still in shock and rocked to the core.
"Thank you to all the wonderful people of Rhos who have stopped by today to see if we are ok. We will not let this beat us!"
The business only opened in November 2023, and is run by identical twins Sally Lambourne and Sarah Meza-Valasquez, who reunited after two decades apart to run the business.
