IT'S been another busy week in this part of the North Wales coast, with our team bringing you all the latest news from Conwy, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, and the surrounding area.

1. Llandudno promenade undergoes ground investigation work
This week, we reported how Conwy Council is carrying out ground investigation work on Llandudno promenade.
Work on the promenade began this week, and is taking place between the war memorial and the lifeboat station.

2. Much-loved Llandudno pub reopens after undergoing two-week makeover
Readers were happy to learn that a popular pub in Llandudno reopened after a two-week long refurbishment.
The Cottage Loaf, at Market Street, closed on February 19 for what the business said was some 'well earned TLC'.
The bulk of the work was the renovation of its kitchen, as well as other maintenance work.

3. Popular Llandudno bed and breakfast could become home
A popular bed and breakfast in Llandudno could be converted into a residential property, after a planning application was submitted.
Between The Bays, at Gloddaeth Avenue, would simply become a home as part of the owners’ new plans.
The business currently offers six ensuite bedrooms, across three storeys, with five of these rooms currently let out for six months a year.

4. Venue Cymru in Llandudno awarded £10million in government budget
Venue Cymru in Llandudno has been awarded £10million in the Chancellor’s Spring Budget 2024.
Jeremy Hunt revealed that £100 million for levelling up culture projects will be set aside for nationally significant culture projects across Great Britain.
£10million will be provided to Venue Cymru for the transformation into an Arts and Conference venue.

5. Odd socks fundraiser in memory of ‘thoughtful' Colwyn Bay woman
An appeal has been made for people to wear odd socks for charity later this month in memory of a woman from Colwyn Bay who died last year.
Ellen Worstencroft, who ran her own business in the town, died aged 27 on April 7, 2023, after taking her own life.
In her memory, a community interest company, entitled Ellen’s Wishes, was set up last October
