A GALLERY in Colwyn Bay will reopen at the BayView Shopping Centre this week after leaving its previous site due to a “lack of footfall” and “no traffic”.
Bay Gallery closed its 21 Station Road site on March 1, and decided to relocate to the town’s shopping centre due to what it described as a “lack of footfall, no markets and no traffic” on the high street.
The charity gallery originally opened in 2011, and moved to the Station Road site in 2016, where its gallery and workshops continued to grow.
However, with the lack of footfall on the road, which has seen several businesses close since the Covid-19 pandemic, the business will reopen at two new premises on March 8.

The business stated on social media: “Due to the lack of footfall, no markets and no traffic down Station Road we have decided to relocate.
“We are going just around the corner - we are all looking forward to establishing ourselves again, in a wonderful premises.
“We thank our 128 members, artists and crafters, and our lovely volunteers who keep this community gallery vibrant.
“The new gallery will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to take in arts and crafts.”
The new Bay Gallery will open at 6pm on March 8, with food and drinks available.
