WELSH sporting royalty has been spotted in Llandudno this week, as the town hosts snooker's Welsh Open.
Two-time Snooker World Championship runner-up Matthew Stevens checked in at the New Alexandra Hotel, on Clonmel Street, following his first-round loss to Ricky Walden.
Stevens, originally from Carmarthen, enjoyed a meal and some drinks as he got over the 4-3 defeat, with staff saying they were "pleased" to welcome the 'Welsh Dragon'.

In a post on social media, the hotel said: "Pleased to welcome Wales’ own ‘Welsh Dragon’ snooker star Matthew Stevens to the The New Alexandra Hotel today to enjoy our delicious food and a few pints!"
Stevens lost in the World Championship final in 2000 and 2005, but did claim victory in the other Triple Crown events - the Masters in 2000 and the UK Championship in 2003.
The Welsh Open is being played at Venue Cymru, with several big names still in the race for this year's prize.
