A TOTAL of 22 streetlight lamps are to be replaced along the Old Highway in Colwyn Bay.
These will be replaced with warm amber LED lamps, which will benefit the woodland wildlife in the area.
This includes the population of lesser horseshoe bats, a European protected species, which roost and feed in the area.
The new orange-coloured lamps meet road lighting design safety standards, while reducing light pollution which affects the bats, birds, moths and other nocturnal wildlife.
The replacement lamps and installation costs are entirely funded by Welsh Government's Local Places for Nature fund.
The removed lamps will be reused in other street lighting, meanwhile.
