AN ONLINE fundraiser page has been created to support the family of a woman who died following a fire at her home in Llandudno last week.

Yvonne Williams died aged 64 on Friday (February 9) after an incident at her home on Kings Road.

Following her death, Cllr Mandy Hawkins, who represents Gogarth Mostyn ward on Conwy County Borough Council, set up a JustGiving page to assist Yvonne’s loved ones with funeral costs and living expenses.

It has so far raised £1,620 – more than halfway to its £3,000 target, and you can add to this by visiting: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/amanda-hawkins-321.

Yvonne was a sister to Matthew, sister-in-law to Joanna, and aunt to Kaiden, Taylor, Aurora, Bobby, Jamie and Ioan.

Other than Jamie and Ioan, they all lived at the same property as Yvonne, and have since been provided with temporary accommodation by housing association Cartrefi Conwy.

Cllr Hawkins added her condolences to her family, and thanked the emergency services for their efforts on Friday, and those who have donated already.

She said: “Knowing the family have also lost their home and belongings in the fire, we want to ensure the family can focus on their healing and coping, rather than Yvonne's funeral and other expenses.

“I set up the fundraiser after speaking with local residents and Matt. I know the community do want to help, and would like to thank everyone who has been able to donate so far.

“We have an amazing community here in Llandudno, but I'm please asking others to consider donating and sharing this post in order to support the family through this difficult time.

“Any amount, no matter how small, will make such a difference in helping the family.

“I would also like to say a massive thank you to all of the emergency services and Cartrefi Conwy for all they have done.

“Our sincere condolences go to Matt, Joanna, the kids, and to all extended family and friends at this difficult time.”

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to the property on Kings Road at 10.59am on February 9, though the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Fire officers are undertaking a joint investigation into the incident with North Wales Police.

Paul Jenkinson, from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, added: “Our deepest sympathies are extended to the family and friends at this difficult time.

“The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and is now subject to a joint investigation.”
