A LLANDUDNO hotel that was given a food hygiene rating of one has “rectified” the “minor infringements” that lead to the low score.
The New Loretta Hotel, on Deganwy Avenue, was given a one-out-five score after assessment on December 27, 2023.
The report into the business had rated the cleanliness and condition of its facilities and building ‘generally satisfactory’.
However, the hotel’s management of food safety was rated ‘major improvement necessary’, with its hygienic food handling scored ‘improvement necessary’.

General manager Theresa Curbishley said the one rating was down to a staff paperwork error, and that other problems had been fixed – they will be re-scored within the next month.
She told the Pioneer: “Sadly the chef on duty had put the wrong month on his paperwork which resulted in the current score.
“The other minor infringements have been rectified.
“The hotel will be re-scored by the EHO in February/March.”
New Loretta Hotel offers live entertainment, and also has a bar and 100-seat restaurant.
