FINAL APPROVAL has been given to extensive plans to transform the old Marks & Spencer site in Llandudno into a three-floor retail, food and leisure hub.
The 61 Mostyn Street site was vacated by M&S in 2022, after the high street retailer relocated its main store to Parc Llandudno.
The building was briefly occupied by UK Leisure Living as a pop-up shop last year, but this was only a short-term lease.
Plans were submitted by site owners Mostyn Estates late last year, which will see the building become a three-storey area for retail, food and beverages, and indoor leisure areas.

Plan to transform Llandudno’s former Marks & Spencer building approved
The plans were provisionally unanimously approved by the council, but were reaffirmed by the planning committee on January 26 after officers advising councillors to refuse the application.
Cllr Louise Emery previously said of the plans: “Llandudno Town Council supported the application, and I’ve spoken to town and county councillors who don’t just want to see something done with a vacant building.
"They want to see an ambitious redevelopment of this site with indoor leisure, food hall dining experiences with retail.
"We need to give residents and visitors a reason to come back to the high street. They will want to go, rather than need to go.
"Retail plays such an important part in the offer to visitors, and I can assure you the high-street businesses that I have talked to are desperate to see the redevelopment of this site and as mixed use.”
The building had already been marketed for two years without success before being bought by Mostyn Estates.
