A BAND are hosting a fundraiser after one of their performers and his wife experienced a miscarriage.
G-string, a rock and pop cover band from Colwyn Bay, will host a live music fundraiser at The Cayley Arms in Rhos in Sea in support of the Miscarriage Association. They will be supported by a number of other bands such as Ancient Youth, Our Lost Cause, Tanglewood, Greenday Tribute, just to name a few.
Neil Wood, who performs in G-string alongside Mike Cashmore, Natalie Allpress and Abi Rollinson, said: "This event is something very close to my bandmate's heart after he went through a miscarriage last year. Both men and women can be affected by the trauma and effects of a miscarriage. My step daughter also went through a miscarriage recently.
"As a band, G-string wanted to do something positive to help a charity that helps people deal with this experience."
Mike, who endured the awful experience of losing a baby, said: "When I found out I was having a baby, I was fortunate enough to have that day be the same day as my literal favourite day of the year - Wrestlemania. Sadly we lost that baby, and this coming Wrestlemania weekend is when my fundraising event will take place in memorial of that special day and in memory what should have been a very special child."
The Cayley Arms have offered their venue to G-string.
"The Cayley Arms have been amazing," Neil said.
MORE NEWS: Long-standing business in Colwyn Bay to close its doors
"We've managed to put together an amazing day of live music with some of the best bands in the area offering their time for free."
"It will be a family day so people can bring their children and we are trying to raise as much money as possible.
"We have set up a JustGiving page and there will be donations cash buckets and raffles in the day so if any businesses can offer up some prizes, that would be very much appreciated.
"Also, if people can come to watch the bands on the day and support this event - that would be amazing."
The charity event will take place on April 6 from 10am until midnight.
Donations are requested on the day.
Raffle donations are also needed. Email gstringwales@gmail.com or search on Facebook - G string North Wales
