THE icy weather has caused a number of school closures.
Schools closed in Conwy this morning, January 19, due to weather conditions include:
Ysgol Awel y Mynydd in Llandudno Junction. This is due to severe ice on the walking paths into the school and the car parks. The school hopes to open around 11.30am.
Ysgol Bodafon in Llandudno. This is due to "dangerous" icy conditions and Ysgol Bryn Elian, Old Colwyn. This is due to the risk of slipping on the school site and reduced staffing levels.
Canolfan Addysg y Ddraig Goch Education Centre is also closed due to icy roads around the school and Ysgol Dolwyddelan is "partially closed"; the school is open for learners of the science department only today.
The closures are listed on the Conwy County Borough Council website.
In Gwynedd, the following schools are closed:
Ysgol Yr Hendre in Caernarfon. This is due to ice - the school site has been classed as "not safe."

Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen in Caernarfon. The school is closed due to there being "no safe access around the site due to frozen paths, steps and yards."
