THE OWNERS of a shop in Llandudno town centre have announced their intention to close in the new year.

Happily Ever After, on Mostyn Street, opened in October 2020 and is owned by husband and wife Jake and Amy Bailey, who moved to the area from Staffordshire to set up the store.

The couple, who have a child, previously sold their home in order to keep the store going during the cost-of-living crisis.

The business bounced back thanks to an innovative shelf renting idea, whereby other local businesses and craftspeople would rent space on the shop floor to sell their own products.

However, the owners have now confirmed the site will be going up for let in January, with the couple to pursue other business interests online.

Merry Mostyn Street in Llandudno delights businesses and residents!

They thanked customers for the support they received, and said they are "excited" for the next step - the shop will remain open until someone to take the site over is found.

In a post on social media, Amy Bailey said: "We will be closed from Monday, 8 January until Saturday, 3 February whilst we take a much needed family holiday. We will be reopening as usual from Saturday, 3 February.

"Following on from our holiday closure we have an important announcement to make. We have taken the decision that we will be looking to close our shop in Llandudno. Our shop will be going up to let the start of January to see if someone would like to take over the lease for the shop.

"Myself and Jake have a separate online business which is extremely busy which we would like to pursue which will allow us some much needed family time. We will be attending local markets and events etc so we won’t be going far.

"We will be keeping our Facebook page but there will just be a few changes which we will share with you in the near future.

"We are very excited for this next part of our journey and would like to thank everyone for their continued support and follows.

"We would appreciate your continued support for our shop and crafters as this process will take some time."
