A MAN'S body was found on a rockface near Old Colwyn at the weekend, police have confirmed.

Shortly after 1pm on Saturday, 16 December, police received calls reporting concern for the safety of a male near Old Colwyn.

The reports related to sightings of a body, which was lying stationary at altitude close to a rockface.

Attending officers were assisted by coastguard and mountain rescue teams in reaching the individual.

Upon reaching the male, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified.

Police said death is not being treated as suspicious and that their enquiries into this incident remain ongoing.
