LLANDUDNO's Monkey Man has been entertaining fans with his Christmas song for 2023.

Sam Peters - known as the Monkey Man - dropped his 2023 Christmas music video on social media just after midnight on Tuesday, December 12.

In the video, Monkey Man is seen dancing to tune Rhythm Is a Dancer, a song by Snap! Sam's wife Amanda makes a quick appearance before Samuel takes the dance floor, dressed in bright red suit with hat.

Monkey Man has created his own lyrics for the beat and sings: "Christmas is on lockdown, what shall we do? Christmas is on lockdown, it's all up to you. Santa is on lockdown, what shall we do? Santa is on lockdown, it's all up to you."

Sam, 70, even makes mention of 'Jesus being on lockdown" in his song.

Throughout the five minute song, Monkey Man dances.


Llandudno Monkey man posted on Facebook on Tuesday morning (December 12) that this year there will be a charity song.

Sam is often seeing pushing two cuddly toy monkeys in a pram during his outings to Llandudno - ‘Rebecca’ and ‘Cameron’.

Born just outside Birmingham, Sam first visited North Wales when he spent a week in Penmaenmawr each year in the 1950s and ‘60s; he then moved to Llandudno 11 years ago.

He likes to feel as though he, along with wife and co-entertainer Amanda, is “giving something back to the public”, after they helped him – literally – get back on his feet after he had to learn to walk again following a stroke.

Highlights from the last decade for Sam include recording Christmas songs, and having the “biggest wedding in the history of North Wales”.
