A COMPANY that snapped up a seafront hotel in Llandudno earlier this year has revealed its plans for the establishment.

The St Kilda Hotel, on Llandudno's promenade, was purchased for an undisclosed sum by The Inn Collection Group (ICG). The Newcastle-based operator has three sites in Wales; the Swallow Falls Hotel in Betws-y-Coed and The Bull in Beaumaris.

The 60-room hotel, which dates back to 1854, had been under the same family ownership for the past 21 years.

The acquisition was completed on a confidential basis via Tom O’Malley, associate director – Hotels at Christie & Co.

Now revealing their plans for the establishment, a spokesperson for The Inn Collection Group said: "In the shadow of the Great Orme, the refurbishment of the St Kilda will provide 52 bedrooms as well as a fully refurbished bar and kitchen to bring the group’s award-winning hospitality venue to the famous promenade."

The Inn Collection Group have recently completed an initial phase of investment at the The Bull’s Head Inn in Beaumaris. The group bought the pub in 2022.

Works have seen a refresh of a ground floor lounge area and the creation of an additional six bedrooms.

The facelift of the lounge has given a contemporary cosiness to the historic venue, whilst remaining respectful to its 550-year tradition of welcoming visitors to Anglesey.

The open fire, that has been warming visitors since 1472, has been retained.

The lounge’s wooden floorboards have been refurbished and supplemented with a deep rug, whilst seating options have been enhanced with new chairs and a plush leather bench.

Making use of an unused conference facility in the main building and cottage along Rating Row, the additional bedrooms are comfortably appointed, with feature wallpaper and furnishings creating the look and feel of a traditional inn.

Betws-y-Coed’s The Swallow Falls Inn is also another area of focus for the group.
