A GENERAL store in Glan Conwy reopened last week, after renovation by the new owners from Colwyn Bay.
Siop Bach opened at the old Glan Conwy General Stores site on Church Street on Friday, 1 December.
Owned by Mathew Creamer and his fiancée Alina, the couple bought the Glan Conwy site in August.
After months of “early mornings and late nights” throughout the renovation, Mr Creamer said the couple were “relieved” to finally open for business.
The building had “many problems” when they initially took it over, with no electricity due to a previous fire, and damage to the interior.
The site has undergone a major renovation, with a full re-wire, and the installation of a smoke alarm system, CCTV and power, as well as furnishing and decoration.

“Me and my fiancée feel relieved, the stress is over, it’s been constant for months with early mornings and late nights,” Mathew told the Pioneer.
“Juggling between our other business and renovating the shop, meeting 20+ suppliers, working out margins etc has been hectic but it’s finally done and hopefully everyone likes the place.
“We are fully open to ideas or product suggestions by the public, we’re new to it and will be trial and error for the coming months but hopefully everyone can support the shop.”
Mathew and Alina also run a holiday home cleaning business, Conwy Cleaning Solutions, and Mathew said their latest venture will be “good to get in to another avenue of business”.
