LLANDUDNO sparkled in all its festive glory during its annual Christmas parade.

Crowds of people lined the streets for the parade that departed Llandudno Railway Station at 4pm on Saturday (December 2).

The annual procession, organised by Llandudno Town Council, made its way along Vaughan Street, Mostyn Street, past the Town Hall in Lloyd Street, down Madoc Street before returning to the Station.

The parade was led by Father Christmas on his sleigh. Mayor of Llandudno, cllr Greg J T Robbins, followed along with mayoress Debbie Robbins and Miss Alice.

They were joined by members of Holy Trinity Church of Llandudno, who were dressed as characters from the Nativity, two stars on stilts, Llandudno's 'Monkey Man' and his wife Amanda, Theatr Colwyn Mother Goose pantomime float as well as groups made up of young people.

Entertainment took place outside the town hall during the day. There was performance from Llandudno Town Band, Llandudno Youth Music Theatre and an Abba Tribute band. Chris Williams, of the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza and the Magic Bar, acted as compere.

There was also a performance by the Batala Samba Band.

Robin Millar, MP for Aberconwy, posted on his Facebook page: "Another fantastic Christmas Parade today in Llandudno was watched by a crowd of hundreds lining the route on Mostyn Street as it moved from the station to the Town Hall.

"Mayor Cllr Greg Robbins led it with Miss Alice. Santa was also there with majorettes, drum corps, parents with their children and local community groups and organisations. The Batala drummers did a stirring set after outside the Town Hall. They were followed by members of the pantomime at Venue Cymru.

"A quick mention for the young Air Cadets who were a real credit to themselves and their squadron.

"Thanks to Louise Morris and all the team at the town council who organise it and make it happen each year. Great to be part of the team helping with the marshalling, volunteers and councillors all - moving barriers, answering questions and generally keeping things moving and safe."
