CONWY Council is reviewing a licence of a popular Towyn pub – with a hearing now scheduled for December.
Conditions of Sunny’s Café and Bar’s premises licence are now being reviewed after the police and council raised concerns about insufficient control measures in place at the pub.
The insufficient control measures at the sports and entertainment bar on Towyn Road relate to the prevention of crime and disorder, the prevention of public nuisance, and the protection of children from harm.
A premises licence is granted by the council for a specific location, authorising the licence holder to sell alcohol and refreshments and provide late-night entertainment, according to conditions set by the local authority.
A spokeswoman for Conwy County Council said: “An application for review has been submitted by North Wales Police siting insufficient control measures to Protect Children from Harm, Prevent Crime and Disorder, and Prevent Public Nuisance. A hearing is scheduled for the 8 December 2023.”
The Local Democracy Reporting Service approached Sunny’s Café and Bar for a comment.
The popular Towyn pub serves food and drink both indoors and outdoors and regularly shows Premier League football, boxing fights, and other live sports, as well as holding various karaoke and entertainment nights.
North Wales Police were also approached.
