A WOMAN who runs a beauty and aesthetics business in Colwyn Bay has celebrated it being named as a finalist in the 2024 UK Hair and Beauty Awards.
Joanne Dawe, of All Eyes on You, was delighted to be shortlisted, having worked in the industry for the last 18 months.
All Eyes on You is nominated for the “best new talent” prize, with Joanne to discover if she has won at next year’s ceremony.
A date and location for the awards event has yet to be revealed.
Joanne said: “I left my full-time job of 10 years to care for my child who has some disabilities.
“Once I was given a unit school for her, I was left with no job and home alone, so I started a ‘pathway into aesthetics’ course in Manchester, and loved it.
“My tutor said I was a natural. I started out thinking I’ll just do it for my friends and close family, but I was that busy that I rented a room in a salon.
“Now, I attend a few salons covering Holyhead and Colwyn Bay, and have never looked back.
“I have been in the aesthetics business for 18 months now, with lots of regular clients, and love making people feel good about themselves.
“With some persuasion, I put my page forward to the HBA and became a finalist for ‘best new talent’. I’m over the moon.
“Even if I don’t win, what an achievement – and I’ll still continue to do what I do; making people feel good about themselves.”
