A WOMAN from Colwyn Bay has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a man in the town earlier this week.

Lauren Harris, 29, will appear before magistrates tomorrow (November 25).

The victim, who died on November 20, has not been named by police, but has been confirmed as a 65-year-old.

A 33-year-old man from Colwyn Bay and a 42-year-old man from Widnes were also arrested in connection with the incident.

They have since been released on conditional police bail pending further investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah-Jayne Williams said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and I would appeal to anyone with information that has not already come forward, to contact us either via our live webchat facility or on 101.

Police had been called at 2.15am today on November 20 to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on Princes Drive.

The family of the victim are being supported by specialist officers, and the Coroner’s Office has been informed.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.48am to an incident at a property on Bay View Road in Colwyn Bay.

“We sent two emergency ambulances to the scene, where the crews were supported by a Cymru High Acuity Response Unit.”

A police cordon was put in place in the Greenfield Road / Bay View Road area of Colwyn Bay.

On November 20, a witness told the Pioneer: "All streets and alleyway are cornered off and forensics are at the car.

"At 4:30am, I was woken up by blue flashing lights straight through my window. When I looked out, I noticed an ambulance and two police cars parked.

"A car that was seen this morning is now crashed into a post leading to the slip road to the motorway."
