THE Queen of the Welsh resorts is to play host to Wales' first ever 'Whisky Fest'.

The first Wales Whisky Fest 2024 will take place between November 1 and November 3 2024 at the St George’s Hotel in Llandudno.

Organisers have partnered with Penderyn Distillery. The event is sponsored by Aber Falls Distillery, Larkfire Wild Water, Whisgi Wales Podcast, and Daffodil Tours.

A spokesperson for the event said: "There will be three days of events starting with an opening party and a paired four course evening meal supported by Penderyn on Friday the 1. With free tours and tastings at Penderyn Distillery in Llandudno, and Aber Falls Distillery in Conwy, for any event ticket holders all weekend.

"On Saturday 2 it’s the main event with 25 whisky producers from around the world offering amazing drams, along with food pairings, displays and special guests including a complementary highball cocktail bar sponsored by Larkfire.

"On the final day of the Festival Sunday the 3rd there are special tastings, masterclasses and events at Penderyn and Aber Falls exclusively for fest ticket holders."

The festival aims to celebrate the growth of the Welsh whisky industry. It will also allow whisky enthusiasts a chance to get together and explore "world whisky as a whole".

Sean Williams, head of events at Wales Whisky Fest (Daffodil Trading Ltd), said: "There were no whisky festivals in Wales but with many Welsh whisky lovers traveling to England or Scotland for festivals it was time for Wales and Welsh Whisky to have its own celebration.
