A BRIDAL hair specialist based in Colwyn Bay is celebrating after being named among the winners at last weekend’s North Wales Wedding Awards.

Heather Wynne, who set up mobile business “Harmony Wedding Hair by Heather” about a year ago, was crowned “best wedding hair business 2023” at the awards, held on October 29 at Osborn Hall, Rydal Penrhos.

It followed similar success for Heather, 31, at the UK Hair Awards, where she was named “best bridal hair specialist” for the whole of Wales.

She said: “It’s been quite overwhelming! It felt really good to win – a lot of people who I work with regularly were there, so it was really nice to all be together in one space.

“Just to make it as a finalist was quite overwhelming, because I’m an individual, whereas others in my category were salons who work as teams.

“That felt like quite an achievement in itself, but I really didn’t expect to win.”

Heather, who received a special glass trophy for her win at the North Wales Wedding Awards, covers much of North Wales and the north west of England through her business.

She added: “It’s taken off quite well; I didn’t expect it to grow as much as it has done.

“I’m not actually a qualified hair stylist – I’ve just gone back to college this year, so I’m on a Level Two – so I’ve been self-taught!

“Because I’m still quite new to the scene, to win these awards already is really, really nice.”
