One person has died in an early morning collision on the A55 near Conwy, police have confirmed.
The road was closed eastbound from J16 Puffin Roundabout Penmaenbach Headland to J17 Conwy since 5.50am with emergency services at the scene.
North Wales Police have now confirmed that one person has died in the incident and are appealing for witnesses.
A spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a white Hyundai on the A55 Eastbound at Dwygyfylchi at 05:49hrs this morning (Saturday October 28).
"The single occupant of the vehicle was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Next of kin and the coroner have been informed, and an investigation is ongoing into the incident.
"We’re appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to contact us on 101, quoting incident number A172376."
As of 7.25pm on Saturday, October 28, lane 2 has reopened but Lane 1 remains closed according to Traffic Wales.
Lane 1 has since reopened.
