A MUM from Colwyn Bay has transformed her life by losing an incredible amount of weight in less than a year.
Mother-of-two Sam Collis, 36, joined the Slimming World group in Llandudno last January, and went on to lose 3 stone 8lbs in just over eight months.
Sam’s main reason for losing weight was to be able to keep up with her two young daughters.
“I was emotionally drained from feeling like a failure, never confident in what I wore, and so nervous, but my group helped my understanding that I wasn’t alone,” said Sam.
“After sitting in my first group I realised all of the reasons I told myself I couldn't lose weight were actually just excuses.
“After taking just a bit of time out each week, to attend and plan my meals and shopping, and just making some simple changes, I realised I can do this.
“In my first week, I lost 5lbs and after just a few weeks I was nearly a stone lighter, all from just following food optimising on the Slimming World plan.
“The best part was I was still eating all of the foods I loved, just in a healthier way. I would still enjoy my sweet treats in the evening."
Sam has vowed to use her success to shape a whole new career, and has completed her training as a consultant for Slimming World.

She will start her role at the Slimming World group in Llandudno Junction on October 31, and looks forward to supporting other people to feel as confident and happy as she is.
Sam added: “Like a lot of slimmers, I had tried to lose weight so many times before by following numerous diets, but they were never sustainable because I’d always get tired of restricting what I ate.”
“The eating plan encourages you to eat lots of tasty, filling foods.”
Sam’s Slimming World groups will be held at Llandudno Junction Community Centre Hotpoint Club at 9.30am, 11.00am, 5.30pm and 7pm from Tuesday, October 31.
