A MAN from Deganwy has been handed a driving ban and community order after not giving a sample of blood in Colwyn Bay.
Carl Jones, 33, of Parc Pentywyn, was accused of failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis, without reasonable excuse, on Llanerch Road West on April 14.
He admitted the charge at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on October 11.
District Judge Gwyn Jones ordered him to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work within the next year.
Jones will also be disqualified from driving for four years.
In addition, he will pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £114 surcharge.
This amounted to a total payment of £199, to be paid in monthly instalments of £100 from October 25.
