NETWORK Rail has apologised to customers after trains along its coastal line were cancelled earlier today (September 27).
Customers experienced significant delays this morning, with trains between Chester and Holyhead being cancelled at short notice.
An alert to passangers said the delays were due to a "disruption", and trains were put back on before the estimated time of 12.30pm.
Network Rail said the cancellations were in response to reports of a "defect" between Rhyl and Abergele, resulting in a safety inspection of the track.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "We are sorry for the disruption this morning in North Wales.
"We temporarily closed the railway so we could safely inspect the track between Rhyl and Abergele following reports of a defect.
“The inspection has now taken place and the line has reopened.
"We advise any passengers to continue to check before travelling.”
