A NEW disability respite centre in Rhos-on-Sea opened its doors to service users this month.
The purpose-built, multi-million-pound Bron y Nant development on Dinerth Road, Rhos on Sea will help boost the care and support available for those with disabilities in Conwy.
Bron y Nant is home to disability respite services and an inclusive support day centre.
The respite service will meet the needs of people with disabilities and their carers for planned respite breaks.
There are five self-contained apartments and communal areas where individuals can join social events, if they so choose.

The day service, run by the inclusive support team, will offer high quality day opportunities for adults with a learning disability.
Cllr Penny Andow, Conwy’s cabinet member for integrated adult and community services, said: “The development of the Bron y Nant centre has been a long term vision for Conwy social services, and contributes to the council’s priority to support the needs of those who live and work in Conwy.
“This new facility will help us deliver our services in a high quality, bespoke environment.
“This increased provision of residential respite for people with a learning disability, and particularly for people with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions, will help us to better support our many informal carers, ensuring that they have regular and predictable breaks from the important role of caring.”
Through the Integrated Care Fund (ICF) capital programme the Welsh Government has contributed £1.4million of funding towards the development of this project.
An official opening ceremony will be arranged in spring 2024.
