A MALE voice choir who have been supporting Ukraine through their concerts were thanked by a couple who have family in the country.
For more than 60 concerts Maelgwn Male Voice Choir, Côr Meibion Maelgwn, has dedicated the song 'You’ll Never Walk Alone' to Ukraine and the continuing struggle that their people are undergoing. A special banner has also been made incorporating the Ukrainian flag, the red Welsh dragon and the words 'You’ll Never Walk Alone.'
Earlier this month, an elderly couple of Polish heritage asked to take a photo of the flag with members of the choir to send to Kyiv to their son’s fiancé and her parents.
Dewi Miles, of Côr Maelgwn, who rehearse at Ysgol Awel-y-Mynydd in Llandudno Junction, said: "The idea of dedicating the song started when Liverpool dedicated their home anthem about two years ago.

"In addition to singing, we had a special banner made incorporating the Ukrainian flag the red Welsh dragon and the words You’ll Never Walk Alone. This always gets a tremendous response from audiences and no more than last Thursday in St John’s church in Llandudno when an elderly couple of Polish heritage asked to take a photo of the flag with members of the choir to send to Kyiv to their son’s fiancé and her parents.
"They were really pleased to see that we in Wales, and elsewhere in the UK, continue to support their struggle."
