A MAN from the Old Colwyn area who is headteacher of a school in Gwynedd was charged with numerous sexual offences today (September 8).
Neil Frederick Foden, 66, has been charged with the following:
- The adult abuse of a position of trust.
- Sexual activity with a child.
- Sexual assault on a child.
- Engaging in sexual communications with a child.

Foden appeared before Llandudno Magistrates Court today, and has been remanded to appear before court again at a later date.
A Gwynedd Council spokesperson said: “We have been notified that a member of staff of a Gwynedd school has been arrested and charged by North Wales Police and has since appeared before the court.
“In accordance with the school’s employment procedures, the individual has been suspended from his post until all the investigations have been completed.
“We can confirm that all relevant child protection procedures are being followed.
“The council will not be making any further comment while these processes are ongoing.”
North Wales Police said: “Anyone with any further information that can assist our investigation is asked to contact us via 101 or our live webchat, quoting reference A143631.”
