AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a man involved in a an early hours road traffic collision on the promenade in Rhos-on-Sea.
Anthony Wyn Edwards, of Trillo Avenue, Rhos-on-Sea, died in the incident that occurred shortly after 3.30am on August 19.
At County Hall in Ruthin on Thursday (August 31), an inquest was opened into the 87-year-old's death.
It was told that at 3.37am, police were called to a single-vehicle collision which occurred on the promenade on Marine Road in Rhos-on-Sea.
It involved a silver Mercedes which had collided with a wall. Sadly, the driver, Mr Edwards, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem exmination held on August 23 found that Mr Edwards died of thoracic spinal and chest injuries.
A full inquest has been adjourned until a later date.
