BETSI Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) has revealed it is exploring plans to build more operating theatres at Llandudno Hospital.
The health board has submitted two planning applications to Conwy County Borough Council.
One is for the construction of a new extension to the existing operating theatres. Works would involve 'part demolition' of an existing building to provide two new operating theatres.
The other application would see an extension to the existing x-ray department at the hospital to provide mammography, additional x-ray rooms and stores with associated mechanical and electrical services.
This proposal also mentions: "Aberconwy Extension to existing Aberconwy Ward to provide two LV Switch Rooms. Assessment Treatment Unit demolition of the existing Assessment Treatment Unit to provide new car park.
