A MEMORIAL ride was held yesterday (August 27) to remember a Colwyn Bay mother and keen motorcyclist who died suddenly earlier this month.
Claire Hill, a 47-year-old mother-of-three, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday (August 4).
In total, 15 riders turned out to honour Claire, which started at Ann’s Kitchen in Mochdre at 11am yesterday.
They then rode to Betws-y-Coed, and later on to Ruthin, before finishing in Rhyl, where they watched the Red Arrows’ display as part of the town’s air show.
Claire’s funeral took place on Thursday, August 24.

Some of the riders dressed up as ducks yesterday as a nod to Claire’s particular fondness of the birds.
Tracey Roberts, a friend of Claire’s who took part in the ride, said: “Claire loved her ducks; they went everywhere on her bike. Every bike had a duck attached to it.
“Her daughter, Amy, thought it would be great to have us all in these (outfits), and we obliged - we also dressed like ducks for the funeral!
“The ducks made so many people smile and laugh, just like Claire would have loved.
“We also left ribbons, which we had tied on a bike at the funeral for Claire, at Betws-y-Coed.”
Jeff Walker, who knew Claire through their shared love of riding motorbikes, set up a “GoFundMe” page to support her children, one of whom is autistic, and to put towards funeral costs.

Claire is survived by her partner, David, and her three children; Dominic, Luke and Amy.
A member of numerous biking groups, Claire also worked as an end-of-life carer.
Following her death, Claire’s daughter, Amy, celebrated the life of her late mother.
She previously told the Pioneer: "My mum was a single mother who always did the best she could for us.
“I will always remember the times we would send random silly pictures, and I will forever miss her laughter; it was infectious and a pleasant sound to listen to.
“I will also miss her hugs; no hugs compared to a ‘mum hug’. I’m going to miss her watching ‘Murder, She Wrote’ while crocheting. I hope to see you in another lifetime, mum.
“Love you forever, and see you in another life as your daughter again, when the time is right.”
Claire's partner, David Roberts-Griffiths, added that she "was a soul of pure gold", as well as his “best friend” and “riding buddy”.
